You Wanna Piece of Me??

February 24, 2009

The Tufted Titmouse... known to cause humans to flee with one glance of it's terrifying glare. Well...almost, lol.

This picture of a tufted titmouse was taken at my parent's home in Massachusetts this past fall. My dad, who loves all things Nature, takes some of the best pictures of these fine feathered denizens of the sky I've ever seen. Why? Well, mostly because he is able to capture a "look" that they always seem to have ready just for him. I couldn't resist posting this picture he took and the look on the little bird's face says it all...

Lovely Way to Start the Day!

What a lovely way to start the day than seeing one of my pieces featured on my friend, Silke Janas-Schloesser's blog. Silke recently purchased one of my Nature Spirit pendants which was a real honor as I have been a fan of hers for a long time.

For those of you unfamiliar with Silke, you must visit her sites to look at the gorgeous fantasy creatures she creates!

Here are just a few of the many adorable faeries, trolls, and witches she has done:

Thank you, Silke!

By adding a new pair of earrings to your favorite outfit you can freshen it up while not breaking your bank account.

I took a break from painting and sculpting this week to create some creative & colorful ear candy for Spring. Available in my Etsy shop, click on the pictures for more info.

Vintage Hearts and Flowers

February 7, 2009

I've taken these awesome vintage Lucite heart and flower beads and up cycled them into a pair of gorgeous earrings. The beads are a soft frosted clear and will take on the color of whatever you are wearing.

The ear wires and findings are sterling silver, and I've accented the earrings with Czech foiled clear beads to give them a bit of extra sparkle. A lovely gift for your sweetie this Valentine’s Day, they come in a lovely hand crafted gift box.

Aphrodite's Fire

Arts In RI team members decided to creatively challenge one another to embrace the season of love with Valentine themed products. Between now and Valentine's Day we will share some of these "lovely" designs with you here on our blog. Let us know how you feel about our art by leaving a comment. Everyone who leaves a comment will be entered into a random drawing for an Arts In RI gift basket featuring goodies from many of our shops. (one entry per person per post. In other words you can enter once every time we post a new product!!!) Be sure to check back on the blog on Valentine's Day as we will announce the winner that day. Entries will be accepted until midnight February 13th.

Our next item is a beautiful pair of earrings created by Val of ElysianFields. Val, says of her design: "Cyprus, the birthplace of Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love and beauty was also where the mineral Copper was mined and named for. I have combined the organic warmth and protective qualities of Bali copper wires and added to it the fiery sparkle of pink fire polished Czech beads. The fire used to create these sparkling little treasures seems to radiate from within the bead itself. A lovely gift for your Aphrodite this Valentine’s Day, they come in a lovely hand crafted gift box."
